Combat Analytics Training Outline.

Combat Analytics™ training is divided into 5 main blocks and can be tailored to each unit.  This training can be provided to Headquarter Staff’s, special staff section training, OPD & NCOPD, operational commanders, and professional education forums.

1. Block I: An Introduction to Combat Analytics.  This section reviews what combat analytics are, the Combat Analytics Balanced Scorecard, applications of military analytical decision-making, and the supporting rationale.

2. Block II: Combat Analytics Assessment Process (CAAP).  This is the systematic process how to define, create, track, and interpret analytical measures of success for a counter insurgency.  This class is presented in a how to and hands on format so all attendees can create and track their own scorecards.  PMESII, Line of Effort, and Combat Analytics Balanced Scorecard methodologies are all taught.

3. Block III: Connecting the Scorecard to the Squad.  A “How To” overview how to create data collection plans, task units with data collection responsibilities, and ensure the BN TF and BCT HQ have executable data collection plans.

4. Block IV: Historical Overview of Three Counter Insurgency Efforts.  This is a historical examination of the Malaysian, Algerian, and Rhodesian counter insurgency efforts and how the counter insurgency forces could have applied analytical measures of success to their operations.

5. Block V: Practical Exercises (Group).  These are practical exercises performed in groups of four to apply the Combat Analytics Assessment Process to example military problems.

6. Appendix: Combat Analytics applied to the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP).  This is a systematic process how the Combat Analytics™ process is incorporated into the existing MDMP.

Included in the Combat Analytics Training is the Student Instruction Manual and CD-ROM:
